Smart Phones - More Than Just a Phone
Put simply, smart phones have changed the world in almost as dramatic a way as the personal computer did when it first hit the market. The way we communicate, share ideas and media has changed completely, with much of the world preferring electronic methods over old techniques. It's no wonder when sending an email takes 2 seconds and sending a letter via postal mail takes 2 days. Smart phones are the wave of the future, and are capable of doing far more than just making phone calls.
All smart phones offer excellent service as a telephone and can easily stand in for a land line or other cell phone. However, use as a telephone doesn't even scratch the surface of a smart phone's capabilities. Like other cell phones, smart phones are capable of text messaging, and are quite adept at it. The way smart phone SMS differs from that of regular cell phones is that most smart phones keep a running conversation going between you and your contacts, which leads to a much more legible, easy to follow series of messages.
All smart phones are capable of surfing the internet, which for many people is the main draw towards them. Browsing the web on a smart phone is considered to be just as enjoyable as doing so on a laptop, table or desktop, and can be extremely useful when employed at the right times. Access to the internet means you have a virtual infinite of information at your fingertips, and any current smart phone users will tell you it that having internet on the go comes in handy far more often than not.
The other main reason for having a smart phone for most people is their e-mail capabilities. Sending and receiving emails from a smart phone is a streamlined, easy to learn process that can save you in a pinch, especially if you are away from the office. With a smart phone, there's no need to leave someone waiting for your e-mail, and you won't have to worry about missing that important memo when you aren't at work.
Smart phones are also very capable mp3 players, and eliminate the need to carry multiple devices at once. As the technology advances, mp3 players are becoming more and more sophisticated, with current smart phones exhibiting cutting edge music-playback technology. Smart phone music players come in handy on long trips especially.
